Practical resources on the Propello platform
Propello is a member of CLEAPSS. The science practical activities provided on the Propello site follow the guidance provided by CLEAPSS. However, schools and colleges are responsible for ensuring that appropriate health and safety procedures are followed, and full risk assessments completed, before undertaking any practical activities. Teachers and technicians must follow their school’s or college’s policies and procedures and adjust to meet the specific needs of their students.
Your employer will be able to confirm the organisation that provides your health and safety advice. It is your employer's responsibility to provide you with suitable advice and training so that you can appropriately manage any risks arising in your lessons.
In a few cases, Propello articles or resources may contain links to external websites or YouTube videos, which have not been subject to the same review process and for which Propello accepts no responsibility. These videos are intended to be shown to students to teach subject content rather than deliver specific health and safety information, and therefore do not necessarily identify all hazards and may not show all the relevant control measures. As with all video links, teachers should view content prior to sharing with their classes to ensure suitability for their students.
Propello does not accept any responsibility and shall not be liable to users or any third party for any losses, damages, claims, expenses or outcomes resulting from the use of resources published on the Propello platform.
Comprehensive information on the safe use of practical apparatus, techniques and associated chemicals and substances is available on the CLEAPSS website (England, Wales and NI) or SSERC website (Scotland).
